What is Every Door Direct Mail?
Every Door Direct Mail is a program created by the United States Postal Service (USPS) that allows businesses to mail flat-sized pieces at a reduced postage rate to advertise their business.
What is a flat?
A flat or standard flat as it is also called is a large size mail piece. It needs to be more than 6.125" tall OR wider than 10.5"
You can mail to all homes and businesses in a mailing route or all homes only. Every zip code has many routes; usually containing anywhere from 300-600 homes and businesses.
Where do I find the routes?
These routes can be found on the USPS website under their EDDM section. I can also run a report of your location and show you how many prospects are in your determined area.
Can I target the homes that I want to deliver to?
You can target homes by carrier route, but not individually. One of the requirements of Every Door Direct Mail is sending your mail piece to every home on the mail route.
What if I want to exclude business addresses?
That is not a problem. You can exclude all businesses and only mail to homes.
What is the minimum or maximum we can mail?
When using Every Door Direct Mail "Retail", the minimum amount you can mail is 200 pieces or one full postal route. The maximum you can mail is 5,000 pieces per day. If you need to mail more, please text or call (248) 706-8222 and your EDDM specialist will assist you.
Can I print these cards on my home printer?
I don't recommend that you print these cards on your home printer. The required thickness of the paper for Every Door Direct Mail is usually too thick to print on a standard home printer.
Will you prepare the mailings for me?
I will prepare your entire mailing, including the paperwork. I can ship the prepared mail to the post office on your behalf or I can ship the prepared mail to you with all of the necessary paperwork. All you would have to do is bring the mailers, paperwork and your postage check to the designated post office.

Direct Mail influences consumer purchases. In a study conducted by Forrester Research, it stated that, “direct mail directly influenced the purchase of an item or a service more than any other channel,” and that, “76% of consumers are directly influenced to purchase an item as a result of a direct mail piece.
Save Money
In comparison, it costs $1.50 per piece to mail 1st class flats, $0.73 for 1st class letters and $0.56 for 1st class postcards, but with Every Door Direct Mail™, it costs only $0.223.
No Permit or Mailing List Needed
With traditional direct mail, you would need to purchase a mailing list and put the resident’s name and address on each piece, using this service, you don’t need to purchase a list or put the name of the resident you’re mailing to, saving you time and money
